Professional Performance Australia (PPA) has a suite of workplace learning, professional development programs that are listed on this site. These programs are in the three broad areas of Organisational Learning, Management Learning and Employee Learning. All of these programs are structured around eight hours of workshop time. Each of these programs can be conducted in your workplace by one of PPA’s qualified and experienced facilitators, or they can be purchased by your organisation for your own training staff to conduct.
Assessment of competency in the learning areas covered by the suite of courses listed in the Learning Titles page on this web site, or any of the courses listed on our International Education Symposiums web site is optional. Successful assessment of competency in each of these courses can however lead towards credit in Nationally Accredited Courses. Contact us for further information.
Nationally Accredited courses offered by Professional Performance Australia, are designed with flexible delivery options. We negotiate program delivery on an individual basis with the organisation or potential participants involved. With our flexible delivery options, geographic location is not a barrier for participation in any of our courses. Modes of delivery may include face-to-face sessions, or may include involvement in our virtual classrooms. Provided you have internet access and/or telephone access, you can participate in our courses regardless of where you are located world-wide.
Participants successfully completing any of the accredited courses we have on offer will receive Nationally Recognised awards from “The Learning Collaborative”, our Registered Training Organisation colleagues.
PPA specializes in accredited courses in the areas of:
- Training and Assessment
- Business Management
To ensure maximum return on investment from the training dollar, PPA emphasises learning by doing over an extended period rather than conducting intensive short-term courses. Research shows that without implementation practice 100% of learning is retained for up to an hour and that after three months, almost 100% is lost. As adults we learn best by doing, by practicing skills, not by a flurry of work filling out forms and reports to satisfy assessors and Auditors, often not embedding competencies as the primary aim.
We are determined that professional development programs should result in behavioural changes for the participants involved, with these behavioural changes resulting in improved workplace performance. A new skill learnt, or a competency obtained in a short intensive training course frequently does not become a part of that participant’s behaviour. Any behaviour is hard to change, regardless of whether the new behaviour is a change in health behaviour such as stopping smoking or a new workplace behaviour. New behaviours need to be practiced to become a part of a person’s repertoire. Skills and competencies must become embedded and this philosophy is reflected in Professional Performance Australia’s facilitation of workplace learning.
All necessary evidence collection and course book work is still completed. As part of our internal audit processes we ensure that all principles of assessment have been applied to evidence of competence. We require the evidence to be valid, reliable, authentic, sufficient and current. We are meticulous in our compliance with the rules, checks and balances demanded by Nationally Accredited courses.
Our philosophy and approach to professional development is stated in the introductory paragraph on the home page of this site. It is repeated again below:
We build: Effective, dynamic, profitable organisations using solid structures and proven foundations. Our process: Facilitate clients developing themselves as performance powerhouses who are immensely satisfied with their well being, personally and professionally. Our programs: Professional and effective. We focus on embedding skills in the workplace rather than "vaccinating" staff with a quick injection of a seminar.
Our Management Foundations (for Educators) and our Management Foundations ( for Industry and Commerce) web sites have details on two of our comprehensive courses incorporating the accredited training course Diploma of Management.
In addition to the Management Foundations courses, Professional Performance Australia does provide other Nationally Accredited courses. These are provided with flexible delivery options using an Action Learning approach. The awards for these courses will be provided by our Registered Training Organisation partners, The Learning Collaborative.
The Nationally Accredited courses which we are currently offering are: Diploma of Management, Certificate IV in Frontline Management and the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
Please contact us if you have any enquiries regarding any professional development course in which you may be interested. If we are not able to provide the course for you, we probably will have colleagues to whom we can refer your enquiry.
